The aircraft AN-2

The An-2 is a Soviet mass-produced single-engine biplane aircraft with the engine ASh-62IR and propeller AB-2. The aircraft was designed by the chief designer Oleg Antonov and manufactured since 1946. An-2 was widely used in agricultural work, for the transportation of passengers, cargo, mail, air-chemical and forest-aircraft operations, in search-shooting and rescue missions and other special purposes.

The aircraft is allowed to perform the following types of operations and activities such as:

  • As the carrier: for the human transportation, baggage, mail and the cargo inside fuselage.
  • As agricultural aircraft: for the pollination and spraying the crops.
  • In a case of forest fire: to patrol the forests, transportation the equipment and firefighters to the fire place.
  • The geological exploration operations: to survey large areas of the earth's surface in order to detect mineral deposits.
  • The human rescue missions: transportation of sick and injured persons.
  • The search and rescue operations: flying support missions in a case of emergency.

The aircraft AN-2 as the carrier can transport 12 (or 13 passengers where the seats are located along the board of an aircraft) passengers with luggage and only if provided acceptable centering.

The helicopter Mi-2

The Mi-2 is the fist light Soviet Union transport helicopter with gas turbine engine. The Mi-2 was specially designed to fulfill main tasks of a civil aviation. The helicopter was mass produced in 1975 - 1992 years at the factory “Pzl-swidnik” situated in Poland. The factory produced more then 5,250 units, for use in civil and military aviation.

The helicopter Mi-2 was widely used in civil aviation - for the transportation of passengers, in agricultural work, for training flights and also to perform the following operations:

As transport helicopter:

  • The human transportation, baggage, mail and the cargo inside fuselage;
  • The transportation of goods outside the fuselage on the external load;
  • In a case of forest fire: to patrol the forests, transportation the equipment and firefighters to the fire place;
  • To assist the traffic police in patrolling suburban and urban highways
  • Basing the helicopter on the ice-breaker and perform aerial reconnaissance of the ice;
  • Aerial photography of the land to perform the afforestation work;
  • The human rescue missions and wrecking.

As an air-passenger transport

  • The human and baggage transportation inside fuselage;

As an agricultural aircraft:

  • To perform air-chemical works.

  • To perform the training flights

As an carrying and air passenger transport the helicopter Mi-2 can carry on the board 8 persons including pilot (7 passengers an a pilot) with the luggage. And particular attention should be paid to the securing of the load.
